Pakistan pulls out badminton team refering to shuttlers won’t win decorations

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), on Sunday, declared that they have dropped their badminton crew from the country’s contingent for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, refering to that shuttlers from the country won’t win any decorations in the quadrennial occasion. Pakistan had before named a 4-part badminton crew including Tokyo Olympian Mahoor Shahzad, Ghazala Siddique, Murad Ali, and Irfan Saeed for the Commonwealth Games.

This improvement comes after the shuttlers were required an instructional course in Lahore and, surprisingly, secured their visas. “The PSB coordinated a 15-day instructional course for Pakistan’s badminton crew in Lahore for the Games. In addition, every one of the four players and their mentor had gotten their authorization card as well as visas and were good to go to leave for Birmingham. However, the PSB has chosen to prohibit badminton, purportedly on the appearance that the crew gets no opportunity of winning decorations,” the Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) President Wajid Ali, was cited as saying in media reports.

As indicated by reports, the PBF has reached the PSB requesting that they upset the choice, however the top body is yet to answer. Olympian Mahoor Shahzad took to her Twitter record to communicate her dismay on the circumstance.

“With most extreme agony I need to illuminate you all that the Pakistan Badminton Team chose for the Commonwealth Games 2022 has been dropped by the PSB. It’s very uncalled for with respect to the PSB to disengage the possibly sport without a second to spare when everything was concluded,” she tweeted.
