Five offer lead in Canadian junior young ladies golf title, 12-year-old dazzles

2022 Canadian Juniors Girls championship will be held on 26 July to 29 July, 2022 in Canada. Five golf players, including 12-year-old Lucy Lin of Vancouver, all checked two-under standard 70s on Tuesday to share the first-round lead at the 2022 Canadian Junior Girls Championship. Madelin Boyd of Oshawa, Ont.

Madelin Boyd of Oshawa, Ont., Amy Seung Hyun Lee and Erin Lee, both of Langley, B.C., and Myranda Quinton of Burlington, Ont., joined Lin on top of the list of competitors in the 136-player field at The Marshes Golf Club. 27 players are inside five shots of the pioneers.

Lin had the most birdies on first day of the season with six. Subsequent to tumbling to one-over standard after 10 openings, she energized off three birdies coming in — remembering a couple for her last two openings.

The 18-year-old Boyd recorded three birdies on the day and experienced just a single intruder. She held the clubhouse lead promptly in the day. Quinton, 17, additionally made three birdies on the day. Lee and Hyun Lee coordinated each other with five birdies, remembering last birdies for No. 18. In four of the last five Canadian Junior Girls Championships, just once did the pioneer or co-pioneer after the main round proceed to win the competition.

Four additional players sit one stroke back of the forerunners in the red numbers at one-under standard: Payton Lovisa of Burlington, Krystal (ZhuoTong) Li of Richmond Hill, Ont., Anna Huang of Coto de Caza, Calif., and Alissa Xu of Richmond Hill.

In the interprovincial group rivalry, the Team British Columbia group of Hyun Lee and Tina Jiang checked an even-standard 144 for a three-stroke advantage over Team Ontario. The group title will wrap up tomorrow at the finish of the subsequent round.
